- Title: Nanotechnology Enhanced Stemcell Therapy for Precision Regeneration Medicine Mechanistic Advances, Engineering Strategies, and Clinical Translation
Abstract
Nanotechnology offers promising solutions to major challenges in stem cell therapy, including poor survival, limited engraftment, and immune rejection. However, a clear framework linking nanomaterial design to biological performance and clinical translation remains lacking. This work presents a mechanism driven synthesis of recent advances in nanotechnology enhanced stem cell therapy across key domains. We highlight how tunable nanomaterial properties regulate stem cell fate, improve targeted delivery and retention, and recreate supportive microenvironments to enhance survival and engraftment. In addition, emerging immunomodulatory nanomaterials and imaging platforms enabling real time in vivo tracking are discussed. Importantly, this study moves beyond descriptive summaries by integrating mechanistic insights with translational design principles, identifying critical performance factors and current clinical bottlenecks. Overall, we propose a rational framework to guide the development of next generation nanotechnology assisted stem cell therapies in regenerative medicine.
